You know this isn't true on Cosmos nor AtomOne. It's working. Other PoS systems don't compare.
Are you aware of the Nakamoto coefficient? Bitcoin's PoW is dominated by several mining pools. It's worse than our ecosystem's.
As for the security of PoW, few clients give a damn about validating the entire chain. It's so easy w/ Tendermint that we have IBC everywhere.
As for sovereignty, you're not in the small circle of miners that decide what happens to Bitcoin. You're literally subjugated to forces you're not invited to. And if Bitcoin were to go rogue against your will your only options are lesser PoW chains that can be attacked by whale miners.
You couldn't secure a local community chain if you wanted to with proof of work even with merged mining; the scale isn't there and it poses its own dependency nightmare.
I get that you're a Bitcoin maxi, but dude come on. You're complaining about a free airdrop gift. If we change the airdrop distribution the community can thank you for it.

Sounds like a nationstate/billionaire would have a harder time forking those chains than Bitcoin itself.
